Over the last month, kids from all over the district have been working on a program called Philly Talents for Peace that will be broadcast on Friday 6/5 at 7 PM. The program’s intent is to create awareness and empathy about gun violence in Philadelphia and provide action steps that we can take to fight against this epidemic that impacts so many of the children in our city. The students are organized, passionate, so intent on affecting change. They have come together during the pandemic from all corners of the district, without ever having met in person, to create this broadcast. Nia Weeks and Aden Gonzales are the two students from Masterman who are on the planning committee. Alison Fortenberry and alumni Tashera Dean will be reading poetry and Mason McAvoy will be singing. Please tune in on Friday at 7 PM. The event will be streaming on Facebook, Twitter, Channel 52, and Instagram Live.
